Naloxone Safety Awareness Training

Participants of this course have received training in the application and use of Narcan Sprays commonly referred to as Naloxone Sprays. As part of the training the participants of this course received include the following elements:

  1. Understanding the problem of Opioid Overdoses in Ontario
  2. An understanding of what are “opioids” and how it effects the body
  3. An understanding of what is Narcan and how is it administered.
  4. How to recognize an opioid overdose
  5. How to respond to a possible opioid overdose, including calling emergency services and administering basic first aid if required.
  6. When should Naloxone sprays be administered
  7. How to administer Naloxone sprays
  8. Precautions that need to be taken when administering Naloxone
  9. What to do after Naloxone has been given to a person
  10. Where to get additional information about Opioid usage and Addictions.
