Working At Heights Blended Learning

As part of the Working At Heights Standard in Ontario, this course can only be delivered by an approved training provider. Industrial Safety Trainers and it’s “Construction Safety Trainers.ca” division has been approved to provide Blended Working At  Heights Training.  Training is easy and convenient. Training is done in 2 parts, the first part is done online, and after participants have completed and passed the online training, we would attend your workplace or participants can attend a “Blended Working At Heights Part 2 at one of our training centers. Once you have completed the Part 2 of the WAH training, a training certificate will be issued by Construction Safety Trainers.ca as well as proof of training by the Ministry of Labour Training & Skills Development through their SkillsPass portal.

This program has been developed for Ontario High School Students to allow more flexibility in attaining their Working At Heights Certifications.  This program is available to businesses wanting the same convenience in getting their staff trained.

Part 1 – E-learning training

E-Learning module normally takes 3 to 4 hrs to complete.
Participants will learn:

  • Become familiar with relevant legislation, regulations and standards
  • Understand the various controls and equipment that can be implemented in a fall protection plan
  • Be knowledgeable about the various types of ladders and their use
  • Be aware of various forms of fall protection
  • Know the application of fall protection systems
  • Understand how to develop a fall protection plan
  • Knowledge verification

Cost is $50.00 per participant  

Part 2 – On site training

On site training will take between 3 and 4 hours to complete.
Participants will learn:

  • Review of warning methods and physical barriers
  • Review other means of fall protection
  • Review fall arrest systems and equipment for fall protection systems
  • Review specific fall protection equipment (lifelines, lanyards, connecting devices, fall arrestors, etc.) and regulatory requirements
  • Review of anchor points
  • Discuss rescue plans
  • Final knowledge verification of e-learning and in-class content (75% required to pass)

Working At Heights is mandatory for any worker working on a construction project where they may be at a risk of a fall from heights of more than 3m or 10 feet. Some constructors make it mandatory for all workers working on their site to have WAH training.
