Participants of this course will learn how to recognize impaired workers with confidence and will be able to identify key indicators regarding drug, alcohol, or fatigue impairment.
Supervisors and Managers are responsible for the safety of their workers. Thinking that a worker may be impaired is not grounds for accusing them of being impaired at work. By taking this course, you will learn what are the key indicators that show impairment and learn how to conduct an impairment investigation.
This course is taught by retired Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers with many years of experience evaluating intoxication. (This course is not an OPP course, or endorsed by the OPP)
This program covers the following elements:
- Understanding the Occupational Health & Safety Act and how it applies to drugs and alcohol
- About the Federal Cannabis Act
- Requirements for a policy and procedure that address impairment at work

As a bonus, participants will receive a sample Drug & Alcohol Policy and Procedure and an Impairment Investigation Report.
