Asbestos’ high resistance to heat or fire has provided it with a history of many practical uses. The improper maintenance, removal or demolition of asbestos materials or products, though, can pose serious health problems. This course will enable participants to:
- Have a better understanding of asbestos
- Know the common types of asbestos
- Understand the classifications of asbestos
- Become familiar with the health risks of asbestos
- Be aware of the exposure risks
- Know common locations of asbestos
- Understand the general concepts of Type 1, 2, and 3 asbestos operations
- Be familiar with certain control measures
- Understand the asbestos work report and worker’s registry, and
- Be aware of asbestos surveys/inventory in the workplace
