National Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos’ high resistance to heat or fire has provided it with a history of many practical uses. However, the improper maintenance, removal or demolition of asbestos materials or products can pose serious health problems.

This course applies to workplaces with inter-provincial or nationwide locations, and will enable participants to:

 

  • Have a better understanding of asbestos
  • Know the common types of asbestos
  • Understand the classifications of asbestos
  • Become familiar with the health risks of asbestos
  • Be aware of the exposure risks
  • Know common locations of asbestos
  • Understand the general concepts of Type 1, 2, and 3 asbestos operation
  • Be familiar with certain control measures
  • Understand the asbestos work report and worker’s registry, and
  • Be aware of asbestos surveys/inventory in the workplace
