Asbestos’ high resistance to heat or fire has provided it with a history of many practical uses. However, the improper maintenance, removal or demolition of asbestos materials or products can pose serious health problems.
This course applies to workplaces with inter-provincial or nationwide locations, and will enable participants to:
- Have a better understanding of asbestos
- Know the common types of asbestos
- Understand the classifications of asbestos
- Become familiar with the health risks of asbestos
- Be aware of the exposure risks
- Know common locations of asbestos
- Understand the general concepts of Type 1, 2, and 3 asbestos operation
- Be familiar with certain control measures
- Understand the asbestos work report and worker’s registry, and
- Be aware of asbestos surveys/inventory in the workplace
