The Canada Labour Code Part II provides legal Federal standards for workplace parties such as the employer, employees, Workplace Committees and Policy Committees. Together, with these standards, workplace parties can work towards ensuring a safe workplace, and meet legal compliance.
This online course addresses Federal health and safety matters such as:
- Applicable workplace laws
- Relevant terminology (e.g. MSDS, COHS)
- The 3 fundamental rights of employees – right to participate, right to know, and right to refuse
- General and specific obligations of the employer under the law
- Duties of committees under the Canada Labour Code
- The Internal Complaints Resolution process
- Offences and penalties resulting from contravention of the Code
