This online course is designed to provide workers with an overview of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System, as well as specific requirements of WHMIS 2015. This program will provide participants with an overview of the theory and legislation regarding WHMIS as well as an understanding of the respective roles and responsibilities of the employer, supplier and worker. After completing the course, participants should be familiar with the following:
- An overview of WHMIS
- WHMIS-related legislation and regulations
- The roles and responsibilities of the supplier, employer and employee
- WHMIS and workers’ rights
- Types of hazards, routes of entry and control measures
- Hazardous product classifications and symbols
- Safety data sheet and labelling requirements
