Employee Health and Safety Orientation Handbooks and Training Videos

If there is something that a business must do and must do well at, it is the onboarding of new employees. Regulation 297/13 mandates that all workers in Ontario must receive basic training as defined in the regulation for new workers. Go to the Ministry of Labour Training & Skills Development (MLTSD) website at https://www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/hs/training/. Under the general duties of employers and supervisors, they must provide training to new workers on any hazard in the workplace and other elements that must be delivered under other legislation.

There may be confusion about what you need to communicate to workers and what that onboarding should look like. There is no right or wrong way to onboard a new worker, just as long as it is effective.

Give us a call or click here to talk to a safety expert about what a business like yours would be expected to do for new worker safety orientation. There is no cost for the initial discussion.  During the discussion, they will listen to what you are currently doing and offer suggestions on things you could do better at. This may include a brief review of your current H&S policies and procedures communicated to workers when hired.

At Industrial Safety Trainers, we have developed hundreds of Employee Health & Safety Handbooks for companies like:

  • Tim Hortons, Wendy’s, Montana’s and Kelsey’s restaurants

  • Canadian Tire,
  • Honda, Chrysler, and Ford dealerships

Workplace Specific Health & Safety Training Videos

As employers are looking for more effective means of communicating with the business various training elements. This may include new employee onboarding, safety talks or even training on a specific subject matter.  We feel that face-to-face training is the most effective means of training, but when that is not possible or convenient, video-based training might be your best option to ensure that your message is delivered and effective.

Creating your own workplace-specific video training elements is easy; you can have us do it or show you how to do it yourself.
