HEARING CONSERVATION – IST FORMS A NEW PARTNERSHIP!

Did you know that one of the MOL’s provincial initiatives currently until March 31, 2018 is to reduce noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) across all sectors? NIHL is a serious and ongoing occupational disease that can often take years to develop. There is no cure, however it can be prevented by eliminating or controlling noise exposures.

In order to provide our clients with solutions that can prevent and eliminate this hazard, Industrial Safety Trainers has formed a partnership with Workplace Medical Corp, who is Canada’s oldest and largest hearing conservation specialists.

Workplace Medical Corp brings hearing testing to you with their state-of-the-art mobile testing units. At your location, the mobile centers can test as many as 250 employees per day. Additionally, they can provide consulting services, including noise surveys, designed to identify noise hazard areas and help you reduce excess noise. WMC also offers a complete range of custom-fitted hearing protectors that provide superior effectiveness when compared to traditional models.

Mental Health First Aid - What is it?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved. The MHFA Canada program aims to improve mental health literacy, and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague.
